beta 4 of macos monterey 12-1 available for testing apple has released the fourth beta version of macOS Monterey 12.1 to members of its software testing program that is focused on the Mac platform.

MacOS Monterey 12.1 beta 4 includes SharePlay, which allows you to connect with others using macOS Sierra and iOS 10 over FaceTime thanks to its video sharing function through a few easy steps!

While not included in the fourth beta of macOS Monterey 12.1, Universal Control might possibly become available if Apple decides to release a point update on or before December. It will be the feature which allows one mouse and keyboard to be used on multiple Macs and iPads.

MacOS Monterey 12.1 is also supposed to focus on fixing bugs, and there have been suggestions that the tap-to-click feature that has been reported as a problem in prior betas can be fixed by installing the new beta 4.

MacOS Monterey 12.1 beta 4 is available to download via  Apple menu > System Preferences > under “Software Update” in the menu bar for any user enrolled in the beta testing program for MacOS.

Apple has often been beta testing with both iPadOS and a third preview of macOS. This time, however, they gave us macOS betas before iPadOS, perhaps suggesting that iPadOS will be released very soon.

The most recently available versions of system software for Mac are macOS Monterey 12.0.1 (available at ), with security updates available for Big Sur and Catalina.
